$64.30 per hour (inclusive of sessional rates and casual loading) + inclusive of casual loading + 13.5% superannuation.

About the role

This role contributes to the success of the City by delivering high quality, engaging group fitness classes that support members to achieve their health and wellbeing goals while enhancing their experience, enjoyment and loyalty to the Doone Kennedy Hobart Aquatic Centre.

Role accountabilities include:

  • Conducting safe, effective, and engaging group fitness classes, including Les Mills, Pilates, Yoga and Aqua Aerobics
  • Monitoring participant wellbeing and providing exercise modifications to ensure a safe and inclusive environment.
  • Delivering excellent customer service and supporting member enquiries relating to group fitness programs.
  • Contributing to the Health and Fitness team by sharing industry knowledge, providing feedback, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Promoting a positive, welcoming, and professional environment that encourages member participation and retention.
  • Supporting compliance with emergency management, workplace health and safety, and child and youth safety requirements.

About you

You are an enthusiastic and customer-focused fitness professional who is passionate about helping people improve their health, wellbeing and confidence through exercise. You have experience delivering engaging group fitness programs to participants of varying ages, abilities and fitness levels and can adapt your approach to create an inclusive and enjoyable experience for all members.

You possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling you to motivate participants while building positive relationships with members and colleagues. You are safety-conscious, organised and capable of working independently while contributing positively to a collaborative team environment.

To be successful in this role, you will hold a Certificate III in Fitness (or relevant fitness qualification), current First Aid and CPR certifications, and a current Registration to Work with Vulnerable People. Experience delivering Yoga classes and other group fitness programs will be highly regarded.
