About the role

The Coordinator Bushland Infrastructure leads an operational field team that delivers bushland infrastructure projects and programs that support safe, sustainable and high-quality recreational assets across 5,000 hectares of the City of Hobart’s bushland parks and reserves. The role supports positive community outcomes by developing and maintaining accessible, well-managed bushland spaces that enable community use and enhance visitor experience.  

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage field staff and contractors to achieve effective service delivery.
  • Deliver maintenance, renewal and capital works programs across bushland assets. 
  • Coordinate resources, equipment and materials to support operations.
  • Monitor infrastructure and ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards.

About you

The ideal candidate brings proven experience in coordinating bushland or natural area infrastructure programs, with strong leadership capability and a practical, hands-on approach to delivering operational outcomes. The successful candidate will be a collaborative communicator with sound judgement. They will balance safety, environmental considerations and service delivery while effectively managing people, resources and competing priorities.

Key Skills and Experience

  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage field-based teams and contractors. 
  • Strong experience delivering infrastructure maintenance, renewal and capital works in natural area settings. 
  • Effective planning, coordination and problem-solving skills in operational environments. 
  • Well-developed communication and stakeholder engagement skills. 

Qualifications and Licences

  • Diploma or Certificate IV in Natural Area Management, Parks Management or a related discipline (or equivalent experience). 
  • Current driver’s licence.
