About the role

The Senior Project Manager leads the delivery of a diverse portfolio of capital works projects that shape Hobart’s community and infrastructure. Operating with a high degree of autonomy, the role is responsible for end-to-end project delivery. It brings together stakeholders, consultants and contractors to deliver safe, high-quality outcomes on time and within budget.

This position offers exposure to a broad range of projects across council assets. These include playgrounds, stormwater, pavilions, road renewals, bridge strengthening and sporting grounds lighting. It provides a unique opportunity to grow delivery capability while contributing to meaningful outcomes for the local community, all within a collaborative and values led council environment.

About you

The successful candidate will bring strong experience delivering complex capital works or infrastructure projects, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and drive projects through to completion. They will demonstrate sound judgement, strong commercial and contract management capability, and a proactive approach to risk and problem solving.

Key attributes include:

  • experience delivering mid to large-scale projects
  • strong contract, commercial and risk management capability
  • ability to work across multiple projects with competing deadlines
  • effective stakeholder engagement and communication skills
  • a collaborative, values-driven approach to delivery.

Qualifications:

  • degree in Project Management, Civil Engineering or a related discipline
  • current driver’s licence
  • relevant professional accreditation (e.g. PMP, CPEng) is desirable.
