About the role

As our Procurement Coordinator, you will support and facilitate the delivery of Council’s procurement and tendering activities across goods, services and works. You will provide practical, high-quality procurement advice and guidance to a range of internal and external stakeholders, ensuring processes are efficient, compliant and fit for purpose.

You will also contribute to the ongoing effectiveness and continuous improvement of the City’s procurement function by coordinating communications, supporting stakeholder engagement, and advancing procurement capability and best practice across the organisation.

Role accountabilities include: 

  • Deliver end‑to‑end procurement and tender processes, ensuring compliance with legislation, policies and best practice.
  • Finalise procurement activities, including contract preparation, tender notifications and debriefing unsuccessful suppliers.
  • Lead supplier engagement, including negotiations and relationship management.
  • Provide clear, well‑researched reports and insights on procurement activities for a broad audience.
  • Coordinate procurement communications and maintain up‑to‑date content across internal and external platforms.

About you

You hold a qualification in Procurement, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Legal Studies, or a related discipline, complemented by relevant practical experience. Alternatively, you bring substantial demonstrated expertise in tendering and contract management.

You are a proactive and detail-oriented professional with a strong commitment to delivering high-quality outcomes. You have experience developing complex tender and contract documentation and managing high-value, high-risk procurement activities using sound, risk-based approaches.

With well-developed communication skills, you are confident in providing clear, practical advice within complex organisational environments. You build strong, collaborative relationships and contribute to informed decision-making across the organisation.
