About the role

This role helps keep the City of Hobart clean, safe and welcoming for the community. Also operate plant and equipment, and work as part of a team to maintain high service standards.

Role accountabilities include:

  • Carry out street and footpath cleaning, graffiti removal, leaf collection and public convenience cleaning.
  • Operate and maintain sweepers, trucks and other cleansing plant and equipment.
  • Deliver high-quality customer service and communicate professionally with the public and team members.
  • Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently and to environmental standards.
  • Support team operations by reporting issues and contributing to continuous improvement.

About you

A suitable candidate can safely operate small and medium plant, follow maps and daily work instructions, and manage tasks independently. Good communication skills are important for working well with the team and interacting politely with the public. A positive attitude toward learning and meeting the City of Hobart’s behaviour standards is also expected.
To succeed in this role, you will bring:
  • Completion of Year 10 schooling.
  • Current Driver Licence.
  • Registration to Work with Vulnerable People.
  • Current Medium Rigid Vehicle Licence or ability to obtain this licence.
  • Certificate III in Asset Maintenance, or the ability to acquire.
