About the role

As Program Leader Asset Planning, you will drive the development and delivery of the City of Hobart’s strategic asset management program. Your leadership will ensure our assets continue to meet community service needs, now and into the future. You’ll shape strategic policies, plans, and frameworks, champion data-driven forecasting, and support long-term financial planning through continuous improvement and innovation.

Role accountabilities include: 

  • Lead the development, implementation, and review of strategic asset management and long-term financial planning.
  • Provide expert advice on asset management and financial planning to drive organisational alignment.
  • Ensure decisions are informed, strategic, and integrated across the organisation.
  • Develop and maintain asset management systems, policies, and frameworks for consistent practices.
  • Identify risks, opportunities, and trends to support evidence-based decision-making.
  • Foster collaboration across teams, stakeholders, and partners to achieve sustainable outcomes.
  • Champion innovation, continuous improvement, and a community-first approach in all initiatives.

About you

Help shape Hobart’s future by leading strategic asset management and long-term financial planning for the City of Hobart. This key leadership role ensures our assets are sustainable, compliant, and aligned with community needs.

You’re a collaborative and strategic professional with a degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent), significant experience in asset management, and professional certification in the field. You bring strong stakeholder engagement skills, proficiency in asset management systems and tools, and hold a current driver licence.
