Salary range: $91,138 to $99,635 per annum + 13.5% superannuation.
About the role
The Assets and Contracts Officer plays a key role in supporting the City Assets Group by managing contracts, maintaining asset data, and contributing to innovative infrastructure initiatives. This position ensures the effective operation and maintenance of streetlight assets, solar panels, and off-street carparks, while also supporting broader asset management planning and systems development.
Role accountabilities include:
- Manage contracts for electrical supply and maintenance of streetlight assets, including liaison with TasNetworks and private contractors.
- Maintain and update asset registers and GIS systems with data on streetlights, solar panels, and carparks.
- Assist in the development and implementation of asset management systems and contribute to the City's overarching asset management plan
- Monitor solar panel performance and coordinate maintenance and capital renewal works for off-street carparks.
- Collaborate with internal teams to support innovative projects such as smart lighting, EV charging infrastructure, and climate initiatives.

About you
You are a detail-oriented and proactive professional with a strong foundation in asset and contract management. Your experience in administrative environments and your technical capabilities equip you to manage complex data systems and support infrastructure projects with confidence and precision.
You will bring:
- A qualification in Contract Management, Asset Management, or a related field - or a recognised Electrician's License with relevant experience.
- Proven experience in managing contracts and agreements, particularly in a professional or government setting.
- Strong skills in maintaining asset databases and using systems such as GIS, financial management software, and document management platforms.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, with the ability to analyse and present data effectively.
- A commitment to excellent customer service and the ability to respond to enquiries with professionalism and care.
