Salary range: $62,713 to $73,952 per annum (Pro-Rata) + 13.5% superannuation. 
About the role
As the first point of contact for the City of Hobart, the Customer Service Officer plays a vital role in delivering high-quality service to our community. This position supports a wide range of customer enquiries and transactions, both in person and over the phone, while also providing general administrative support to the team.
Role accountabilities include:
- Assist customers with enquiries and payments across a range of Council services.
- Provide professional and friendly service that reflects Council values
- Manage requests and data using Council systems with accuracy and efficiency
- Support the team with general administrative and clerical tasks.

About you
You're a confident communicator with a passion for helping others and a commitment to delivering excellent customer service. You thrive in a fast-paced environment, enjoy working as part of a team, and take pride in resolving enquiries with professionalism and care.
You'll bring:
- Experience in a customer-facing role, with strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to learn and navigate internal systems.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
- A Certificate IV or higher in Front Line Management, Business/Administration, or equivalent experience.
