About the role

This is an exciting newly established position, created to support the centralisation of Council’s property portfolio. The role is responsible for delivering expert advice and operational support across a broad range of property-related matters, including leasing, licensing, acquisitions, disposals, compliance, and contract management. 

Role accountabilities include:

  • Provide expert advice on property-related matters including contracts, acquisitions, leasing, and compliance.
  • Coordinate inspections and ensure leased properties meet the terms of their agreements.
  • Manage property-related contracts and maintain accurate records in Council’s Contract Management system.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external service providers to resolve property issues, support maintenance requests, and improve asset utilisation.
  • Contribute to strategic planning, reporting, and performance analysis to enhance the value and efficiency of Council’s property portfolio.

About you

The ideal candidate for this role brings a strong understanding of property operations, legal frameworks, and asset optimisation. A background in property management, contract administration, or local government operations will be highly regarded.

Essentials for the role:

  • Diploma or higher in property, business, or law, or practical experience in managing property, assets, leases, and government-owned facilities like parks, sporting facilities and buildings.
  • Current Registration to Work with Vulnerable People.
  • Current Driver Licence.
  • Proven experience in property-related advisory or operational roles.
  • Strong analytical and organisational skills, with attention to detail.
  • Ability to interpret and apply legal and commercial agreements.
