About the role

Lead the Future of Smart City Innovation at Hobart City Council

Are you passionate about helping to shape the future of Hobart through the use of smart city thinking, technology design and creating smarter, more connected communities? Hobart City Council is seeking a visionary project manager to research, develop and drive our Smart City initiatives. 

In this role, you will strategically lead the development and delivery of strategies, policies, business cases and projects that guide the future direction of our smart city services.

What You’ll Be Leading:

  • Drive smart city innovation through evidence-based policy and project delivery aligned with Hobart’s Community Vision and Strategic Plan.
  • Identify and implement, in partnership with internal or external stakeholders, opportunities for the use of emerging technologies that can be used to influence change and address whole of city challenges and opportunities. 
  • Lead stakeholder engagement to ensure new systems are safe, compliant, and interoperable across city-wide services.
  • Oversee the development of a portfolio of innovative projects and transition them into sustainable, business-as-usual operations in partnership with relevant stakeholders.

About you

You’re a strategic and experienced leader with a relevant tertiary qualification with extensive experience in identifying and delivering solutions to emerging challenges and opportunities. You bring a proactive, solutions-focused mindset and thrive in dynamic environments where innovation and collaboration are key. With a current Registration to Work with Vulnerable People and a valid Driver Licence, you're ready to hit the ground running and make a meaningful impact in the community.
