About the role

This role is to oversee E-scooter operations and formulate, analyse and produce active transport datasets to support the delivery of the Hobart Transport Strategy 2024, to ultimately help provide for modal choices for the Hobart Community.

Role accountabilities include: 

  • Oversee the Council's hire-and-ride e-scooter permit, including renewals, audits, KPIs, and reporting to the Council.
  • Conduct regular meetings with the hire-and-ride operator and the E-scooter Interagency Discussion Group, ensuring meeting minutes and records are maintained to support community safety.
  • Administer operator fees, fines, and e-scooter confiscations.
  • Analyse usage data and collaborate with the Roads Team and community to identify safe locations for e-scooter parking bays.
  • Develop and manage asset management documentation for e-scooter parking.
  • Create and implement a strategy to make active transport data available to stakeholders via public portals such as the City of Hobart website.

About you

The ideal candidate should possess:

  • Diploma level qualification or higher in Planning, Engineering, Economics or related field, along with at least 3 years of relevant experience in the field.   
  • Current Driver's Licence and Tasmanian Registration
  • Work with Vulnerable People card 

A positive, can-do attitude and want to work in a friendly team environment are essential.  If you have excellent attention to detail and excel in a high-volume work environment, then this may be the role for you.
