About the role
This position will work alongside the crews in the horticultural maintenance of a range of high-profile parks, reserves and streetscapes within the City of Hobart whilst continually monitoring, reviewing and improving horticultural practices and work programs.
Role accountabilities include:
- Provide Leadership and direction to the Parks teams, ensuring efficient use of resources and alignment with operational goals.
- Supervise and support field teams in adopting contemporary practices, working alongside them to achieve high-quality outcomes.
- Assist in the development and delivery of annual work programs, contributing to strategic planning and service improvement
- Deliver high-level customer service and advice to community members, ratepayers, and stakeholders.
- Promote a safe and cohesive work environment by upholding WHS standards and fostering a positive team culture.

About you
You're a skilled horticulture professional with leadership experience in parks and open spaces. You're confident in planning daily operations, leading teams, and delivering high-quality outcomes that benefit the community.
You bring:
- A Certificate III in Horticulture or related field
- Proven Leadership in managing horticultural teams
- Strong planning and organisational skills for daily and annual work programs
- Excellent communication skills
- A current Drivers Licence and Registration to Work with Vulnerable People (or willingness to obtain)
- A commitment to safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement
