About the role

This position plays a vital role in the City’s success by ensuring that various built assets and infrastructure, such as park furniture and equipment, are installed and maintained according to the prescribed service levels and relevant Australian Standards. It also aims to meet community needs and enhance the reputation of the services provided by the City of Hobart. 

Role accountabilities include: 

  • Conduct scheduled inspections of various built assets and infrastructure to identify and formally report any faults. Ensure that maintenance and repair services are planned and executed according to the City of Hobart’s prescribed service levels. 
  • Assist in implementing the Playground Inspection Program to ensure it meets the Australian Standards for playground management.
  • Show dedication to Work Health and Safety standards by actively participating in both formal and informal discussions.
  • Support the implementation of the Capital Workers Program across the Parks and Open Space areas managed by the City of Hobart and offer trade guidance to other staff.

About you

You will have a Certificate III or above in a relevant trade, as well as demonstrated experience in delivery of construction and maintenance programs and services. You will have a can do attitude, with the ability to work independently and want to work in a friendly team environment. If you have great attention to detail and have a flexible and responsive approach in a varied work environment, then this may be the role for you.
