About the role

This position represents a distinctive blend of competencies, encompassing technical systems expertise, regulatory acumen, and business enhancement abilities. It offers a multifaceted opportunity to engage with innovative technologies, navigate complex regulations, and drive organizational growth through strategic improvements.

This role contributes to the success of the City by assisting the Division in fulfilling the City of Hobart’s statutory and regulatory requirements by providing strategic analysis of data and undertaking business improvement projects focusing on process re-engineering to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the Division.

Role accountabilities include: 

  • Design and develop statistical reporting tools and dashboards for public access.
  • Plan and undertake complex data driven research and analysis for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Assist Divisional Managers to analyse types and nature of applications for operational requirements and to identify future resourcing needs.
  • Provide high level administrative support and participate in projects and activities which facilitate the implementation of the Division’s programs

The desired applicant will have;

  • Bachelor degree or higher in a mathematical or statistical discipline or equivalent field.
  • Knowledge of, or the ability to learn analytical tools such as Excel Power BI, ArcGIS, Tableau and SQL.
  • Current Driver Licence.
