About the role

We are seeking an experienced Program Leader to oversee our Buildings division. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in project management, a deep understanding of building codes and regulations, and a proven track record of leading successful teams. Responsibilities include strategic planning, team leadership, budget management, and ensuring all projects meet industry standards. Join us and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our built environment.

The role involves coordinating and executing building asset management, facilities management, maintenance, and project development to meet internal client needs while enhancing the sustainability of Council buildings and associated infrastructure. 

Role accountabilities include:

  • Managing Council's building assets
  • Preparation of Asset Management Plan and capital works and maintenance budgets 
  • Providing advice on building operations, energy usage, and impacts of projects on maintenance costs
  • Development of facilities management systems 
  • Coordinating inspections
  • Ensuring compliance with legislative requirements 
  • Supervising staff
  • Liaising with various stakeholders

About you

The desired applicant will:

  • be proficient in managing building construction, maintenance contracts, and asset management planning.
  • have familiarity with building condition assessment and asset information systems.
  • be skilled in preparing asset management plans, including capital works programs for various building assets.
  • have experienced in project scoping and managing medium to high-value projects.
  • be competent in building facilities management and maintenance program preparation.
  • have demonstrated ability to collaborate with clients, interpret their needs, and negotiate with contractors effectively.
  • be capable of preparing comprehensive written reports suitable for senior management and council review.

Applicants will hold a tertiary qualification in civil, structural, mechanical engineering, architecture, or building services. Alternatively, a diploma level qualification in building services coupled with substantial experience in building facility services management is acceptable.
