About the role

This role contributes to the success of the City by providing effective and timely administrative and clerical services and support for the efficient operation of the Unit. 

Role accountabilities include supporting the work being undertaken by the Principal WHS, the Senior Advisor WHS and the WHS Advisors with administrative and other, related support including:

  • The oversight of all incoming accident and incident reports, entering them into the WHS Management system and maintaining oversight of the close-out of non-conformances.
  • Prepare and distribute monthly WHS performance reports (the WHS dashboard) and incident reports for Corporate and Divisions together with other ad-hoc reports as required.
  • Maintain all documents relevant to emergency response including evacuation plans, checklists, warden duties and list of wardens and schedule emergency evacuation drills for Council workplaces.
  • Maintain oversight of the First Aid system, the first aiders and the restocking of supplies.
  • Maintain oversight of the Hive and the preparation of any Safety Alerts or other news worthy issues that should be communicated to stakeholders over time.
  • Engage with any other project that arises within the team that requires administrative attention, support or related work.

About you

The preferred applicant will have a Certificate IV in Business or equivalent and experience in the provision of effective administrative and clerical support. A Certificate IV in WHS and experience in work health and safety will be highly regarded. They will also be proficient in high-level communication, have efficient time management, and strong analytical problem-solving skills. 

You will have a can do attitude and want to work in a friendly team environment. If you have great attention to detail and thrive in a high volume work environment, then this may be the role for you.
