The Senior Project Estimator provides a core function and service to Council divisions preparing cost estimates for infrastructure/civil construction projects and programs which form part of Council’s rolling 3 years capital works program; validating unit rates for asset portfolios across council and acting as the Corporate Administrator for Council’s estimation system.   The role is also responsible for maintaining and validating the estimation system libraries to ensure accuracy and currency of Council rates.

Salary Range:  $99,548 -  $107,841

COVID-19 Policy

From 15 December 2021, all City of Hobart employees and visitors who enter Council workplaces will need to provide proof of vaccination status.    This is either evidence of the vaccination, or an exemption certificate from a registered medical practitioner in compliance with the Australian Technical Advisory Group on Immunisation.  

If you are invited for an interview, you will need to provide evidence of your vaccination status before entering a Hobart City Council workplace.  If you are not vaccinated, the Recruitment Team will offer you an on-line interview.

If you are successful in gaining employment with the City of Hobart between 15 December 2021 and 31 January 2022 and you are not fully vaccinated, please be aware that you must:

  • Be booked in for your first vaccination appointment prior to your employment commencing; and
  • Have receive your first COVID-19 dose by 31 December 2021; and
  • Both doses by 31 January 2021.

For the health and safety of City of Hobart employees and the Hobart community, if you have not received both doses before starting employment, you will be required to submit to Rapid Antigen testing periodically until you are fully vaccinated.  The costs of these tests are paid for by the City.

Your contract and any employment is conditional on, and will not come into effect unless:

  • you provide evidence to the Hobart City Council that you have received all of the doses of a COVID-19 vaccine registered by the Therapeutic Goods Administration that is necessary for you to be issued with a vaccination certificate issued by the Australian Immunisation Register; or
  • the Hobart City Council provides you with written confirmation of an exemption.
